Stories and articles
The stories on this site are real, told by the people they happened to, sometimes with names or details changed for privacy. They are here to explain why we built the product and to help you avoid the same mistakes. They are not medical, financial, legal, or cybersecurity advice. Reading glasses correct near vision. They do not stop fraud, malware, or identity theft.
Partners and affiliates
Some of our partners publish our stories on their own sites or send them by email. When they do, they may be paid a commission on purchases that result. Their versions carry their own disclosures. Links from this site to Amazon may include tracking parameters that tell us which article or email you came from.
Statistics and sources
Where we cite numbers, they come from the sources linked in the text, primarily the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center, the Federal Trade Commission, and peer-reviewed research. If you think we got one wrong, email hello@minrims.com and we will fix it.
